I replaced the batteries first and it still failed to work... next I used a pencil eraser to clean the contacts on the circuit board and tried a kitchen anti-bacterial surface spray on the graphite contacts of the rubber buttons - worked an absolute treat... and saved me between £45 - £95 buying a new fob

I had to replace mine, no amount of cleaning persuassion worked! I was lucky to get one on eBay (had to be patient and wait for the right 'deal'). Got an almost new one for £15.00. Result! Once I followed the re-prog guide above worked a treat.

I've just changed the batteries on mine and reprogrammed as described, which worked OK. However, I'm still finding though that the remote doesn't always work. The lock is worse than the unlock. I've cleaned up the PCB with acetone (it was quite dirty) but that hasn't made any difference. It will work 3 or 4 times in a row, then it won't work. Sometimes if I want to lock, I press the unlock a couple of times again, then lock. What's this intermittent problem likely to be?

TomP, same thing by me and it got worse over time until a complete malfunction. The charcoal buttons seem to loose contact as they get older. Took aluminum foil from the kitchen, made nice round pads and glued them on with superglue. After this the remote works perfectly again.
