hi there

sounds like the car's in 'limp home mode'.

what hose split? have you done the usual checks on the 'box? level, colour, etc?

it would be better to get the car scanned for error codes.

Hi have checked the gearbox fluid its not black or burn still a nice red, the hose that spit was just a radiator hose, the car wasnt driven after the hose went, got ve an idea that because the battery was so flat it may have caused the problem, I thinks its an electrcal problem with the box.

hi there

is the battery ok now?

i'd disconnect it for 20 mins and see what the result of that does.

while the battery is off, check all fuses and the wiring.

hi there

you'll need to scan it and see what comes up.

do this a couple of times, as the codes might change with the battery being dis connected.

hi there

yep, all too common i'm afraid.

check the wiring across under the radiator.
check the big multi plugs down on the o/s inner wing (10mm nut on top).
check the multi plugs to the gearbox and wiring.

Hi,

You will need to physically dry out the loom and all multiplugs, as the ECU is probably reading errors for all the various solenoids and sensors relating to the transmission.  Thats why the O/D light is flashing and the gearbox is in default mode....hence it wont change gear.

Once you're sure it's all dry then it should drive ok without the light flashing.  If not you'll have to get it read and replace whatever is faulty, but I stress, dont replace bits until you're sure the loom etc is dried out as the ECU monitors resistance of components and water ingress will upset this, thus you will replace a load of bits that you dont need to !!
