Headlight prob and light switch layouts.

Hello!
Have a problems as usual.  Cool
Recently been driving without the left (pass side UK)hadlight (driving light/dipped beam if i'm not mistakin'). Few times it was blinking, but now it just won't work!

Checked the fuse 5 - OK and power goes on it!
Checked the headlight multiplug  - nothing is going there(i compared to the right headlight multiplug)

I think if there is a short curcuit then fuse would be dead.. but it's ok. wiring in the engine compartment looks ok.
My guess is that i got myself a broken wire or plug underneath the fuseboxHuh!
.....Any ideas?

Other thing.
Do someone knows the light switch pin layout?
here's the deal:
My friend's got  95'Frogeye and his front fog lights works without dipped beam. Want to make the same thing. Since i think there's is no switch with this MOD, i would like to make a 'bridge' in wiring.
Maybe there's other way to sort this problem?

Thank in advance!

You shouldn't need the dipped beam to be on to get the fog lights to work, they should work with just the side lights on  Smiley

Have you tried a different headlamp switch ?......headlamp switch failure is a common problem on these cars  Roll Eyes....... Smiley

Haven’t got a clue if this is relevant, but possibly a relay variation.

Central fuse box:
R7 Dim/Dip (GB)
R14 Daytime running light (S, N, DK, SF)

Underneath the instrument panel:
R35 (white) Front fog lights (NL, S)

Just noticed on your picture that you have after market fog lights fitted in the front grill.

Did you fit them yourself, or were they already there ?....If the latter, then do you know if they are wired up correctly ?  Smiley

slipknot.
Using headlights with foglights defeats the object of the foglights which are designed to project a flat topped glare free beam.If the lamp centres are below 500mm from the ground it is illegal to use them other than in fog or falling snow.
Is Dave44 correct ?

Just to clarify, I was answering the second part about the difference between slipnot’s car and his friend’s since I assume he is talking about cars in Estonia and may therefore have a different setup to the UK.

To Jonnycab: tried 2 types of swithes.
When i bought the car it was without them.
I installed them myself. Even by VIN-code i checked, no fogs.Ford MicroCat

about  the aftermarket fogs: i took this pic from DE eBay listing  Grin and this is my car:

To Tompion:
Central fuse box:
R7 Dim/Dip (GB)   - This one ihaven't checked, need to try Smiley
R14 Daytime running light (S, N, DK, SF) - Not equiped.

Underneath the instrument panel:
R35 (white) Front fog lights (NL, S) - Tried many times, didn't find it.
Yes, i'm talking about non-UK setup. My car is from Swiss if i'm not mistaking.

To dave44: The bulb itself is in working condition, checked it.

To gozz : Maybe that's true, but not's the point of question Wink

The wiring diagrams give you some idea of the colour of the wires to the switch and where they go. How much more info do you require?

Especially when you don't understand them completely...

When i changed the switch for the first time, i noticed that the original one (with only rear fog lights) was missing pin #15 and the new one was with pin #15.
From this i can say that 15th pin for front fogs.

Slipknot I think you may be mistaken on the 'missing pin'. I had a problem recently with no obligatory lights front or rear and no instrument illumination. The fault was in the switch and pin 15 was corroded. The switch was changed and all is well,  I have both types of switches here and it is pin 10 that is missing from the lower spec. car ie: the one which does not have the front fog lights. From that we deduced that it is pin 10 which covers the front fogs.  Wink
