manual or auto ? ive got a auto and on the side roads which are always the worst , use your snow button , if not i use the 1st and 2nd gears to get moving then once on the main roads put it into drive . i was out in the worst of the snow on monday and didnt have any problems (and i live in a very hilly area), got to say the scorpio handled it brilliantly , unlike my london taxi which i couldnt even get off my driveway!!!!!

Nothing, you have rear wheel drive, most cars these days are front wheel, much easier to control

Use good tires. I dont know what laws you britts got over there but i use spiketires during the winterseason.

Another tip is to keep the fueltank filled up to gain weight and traction on the rear wheels.

I heard about a guy that placed a 70kg weight in the trunk to improve the preformance on the road.

And of course there is that usual tips, like keeping the rews down, and trying to awoid speeding.
Turning off the ATC and practice how to handel the car on snow in a remote place with no obsticals is also a tip.

Buy the way... your storm came to me today... i can undersand that you got problems from it... i got 10 inches so far... and it hasnt stopped yet...

Reducing the tyre  pressure by a few lbs can also give more traction but remember to put the air back in if you start doing any speed .....

To me they are great fun in the snow being rear drive. Without TC they are a handful. My manual diesel was great even without traction control, hanging the back out on corners, impossible on my mondy without tugging the handbrake.

I do miss it when I see an empty snow filled car park!

Place two 2'x2' paving slabs or two bags of builders sand in the boot,
I have done the latter this week and It's been a pleasure to drive in the snow whilst having a little giggle at other drivers in their merc's and bm's who have become "stuck" on slight inclines revving the b******s out of theirs.

If you do come across another Scorpio driver who is having difficulty's always stop to offer assistance, you know it makes sense.
