Hi Guys,

Has any one changed their spindle rods/connecting rods on their steering rack lately? as im about to try this and was wondering if Ford sell them as a pair or do you have to buy 2 no. Ford are saying they are 40 pound each and you have to buy 2 no, but im not sure if they are trying to ### me off, as ive heard they come as a pair at 40 pound+vat. If anyone knows or could find out, it would be much appreciated.

Regards

Do you mean the track rods ?.....you should be able to buy them separately from Ford & I think they are about £45 each. But go to a good motor factor & you'll get them for under £30 each  Smiley

If it was me I would just get a recon steering rack - about £100 with 12 months warranty.
IMHO not worth the trouble of trying to repair - chances are the seals will give out soon anyway.

Changing the complete rack is probably far simpler than trying to change the tie-rods.
