driving home tonight and the blower kept coming on even tho it was switched off !!! and then about a mile from home every time i touched the breaks i got a horrible grinding noise , breaks worked ok , sounded like something was dragging , had a look when i got home but to dark to see anything , any ideas? i think i managed to sort the blower , i did the reset thing and it seemed to cure it . but its the grinding thing that is worrying me

Grinding on the brakes usually indicates that a brake pad is down to the metal A quick check to find out if it's front or rear is to gently pull the hand brake on (keeping the button depressed) when driving along, if it makes the grinding noise, it's a problem at the rear. Cheers Jim

| If this is the case, then there's a good chance the discs may have been scored badly & they may also need replacing

I remember that my MOT guy told me that its usaly the inner pads that suffers the most wear. So one could look at the outer one and think they are ok.
