when i scannned my cossie it came up with two codes p1406 which was a leaking egr pipe we managed to get pipe off engine repair it and put it back on are sanity was affected and we swore alot but managed to do it and it cured the code. next code was p1152 wich is a dodgy lamda on bank 1 i bought a new lamda went to change it. but guess wat or ever fitted it decided to over tighten it so now proper tool slips, as anybody got a trick or some idear to help with the changing of the lamda, dave

The only way I know with a tight Lamda sensor is to use a good ring spanner with a slot cut in it ...! Others might have other ideas.

Your sensor may not have been overtightened,just corroded in with age.I can't recall the angle of the 24v Lambdas,but mine are removed by a lusty ring spanner and a piece of scaffolding tube,the plug on the cable will pass through the spanner,or if it's scrap,which it may be when you've finished operating on it,just cut the wires off.If you've rounded it off things could be tricky,sometimes I have needed to use heat on the socket when there has been a likelihood of breaking it.If there is limited 'swing space' for the spanner,I have found that differing tools have differing angles and sets.

I dont think it would be overtightened, they are tight to come out sometimes because of the heat and corrosion but you cant put too much torque on them tightening them or they'd break, did you use the right size spanner to begin with? sounds like its rounded off.
try the size just under it, my memory says 22mm but it might be just old age 
Running the engine up to temp should heat it up and help but be careful in there when taking it off

thanks for ur help i borrowed a big ring spanner of the local garage and with a alot of muscle it moved. cheers form dave.
