Hi all, well the scorp has decided it wants to keep me busy again, just driving out of my estate this morning when there is an almighty bang from the front nearside, that'll be a broken coil spring then says I. And it is indeed! So my question is, what other model of scorp uses the same strut and spring as my 2.0 Ultima, I'm guessing that the diesel and the cosworth use a heavier grade spring on the front, but I'm not sure about the 2.3 or 2.9 12 valve models. I'm hoping to just replace the strut but not the hub as I've only recently had new front wheel bearings. Thanks. Bikerdon.

Hi again. Well I've just pulled the wheel off and the spring has an orange paint marking on it, which I guess is a code for the spring type. Highlander if you sent me the PM I havent received anything as yet, or maybe it was for twinturbo. Anyway I'm now carless and in need of a strut to replace this broken one. Trust it to happen on a holiday weekend. Anyone in Glasgow? Thanks again. Bikerdon.

According to http://www.carparts-direct.co.uk/Coil-Springs-Front-Detail.cfm, the 2.0 & 2.3 front springs are the same but not the same as cossies & diesels  Smiley

Hope this helps  Smiley

Thanks for the offer of struts twinturbo. But I'm completely transportless just now, as the Suzuki is undergoing a ground up restoration in the dining roomRoll Eyes And I'm halfway through lapping in the norton engine casings a.t.m. in a bid to stop it impersonating the Torey Canyon. Talk about bad timing!! I reckon the Scorp just got jealous of the attention they were getting and threw a strop today. Bikerdon.

Hi Highlander, yes it's all back together once again and running nicely. And having nice weather for working on it as well is a bonus. Thanks so much for your help in getting me going again, it's much appreciated, as soon as my new contract starts I'll make a donation to the site. The Norton is back on the road as well today so I'm a happy chappie. Thanks again. Donald.
