Most tyre places have a socket that will remove them, bit like an easy out in reverse, cost is normally about £5 a wheel

or you could buy a set but they are easier to use with an impact wrench

Hi Tony, I  have removed a few sets in my time with a  hammer and cold chisel.
You have to be careful so as not to slip and damage the alloy.  Shocked

Good luck.

Hammer an old socket over the nut and try that.

Depends on the type, mike - if its the RS type with the loose outer collar, you'll need to split that first before hammering the socket on Smiley

As Pinto says, if it has the collar you need to knock that off first. Smiley

There is a universal socket that you can buy with a series of hexagonal pins that fit down the  centre designed to fit any nut, this works a treat.

Thanks for the info but i got it done by welding a bar onto the locking nut and got it off that way. But your way seems easier. And as it happens i bought one of those uni sockets the other week......... i'll remember next time......... Smiley

If you look very carefully on the collar on the locking nut you will see a small code letter stamped into it... that is the code you need to get a replacement from FMD.

The key also has the same on it ... worth making a note of it somewhere safe.
