Hi All. Had to disconnect the negative pole of battery this morning and now no tickover  Huh

It starts on the button but will not idle. I have re-checked all the little connectors which are all tight and secure. Any suggestions will be VERY welcome  Undecided

Sorry. I was intending to replace the VSS and disconnected the negative. Everything was perfect before then. Couldn't do the VSS, so reconnected everything onto the negative terminal. Fires fine - just no idle.

hi  there

dis-connecting the battery with make the car re-learn all it's values again.

as asked, will it run with a little gas?

maybe take the idle bypass valve off and give it a clean.

Panic over Guys. Changed the VSS, gave it a good run and lo and behold - it ticked over, a bit lumpy though, so cleaned the idle control - perfect! Phew!!!

Thanks to all who replied and tried to help.

Cheers
