Cruise control stopped working, need help

starting to wonder now that i made mistake letting myself into fords , almost every day something goes wrong with that scorpio, i mean 80k on the clock car should fly without any problems..... cruise control now stopped working just before a 400 miles trip i have planned, does anyone knows what can be wrong? thanks

The other simple check is to make sure the cable from the cc unit is still connected to the throttle linkage. If you've done any work in that area it can get dislodged.

Could also be a vacuum pipe adrift or leaking. Does the Cruise control light on the dash work ? IE: does it light up when you switch on the cruise control on the steering wheel ?

sorted! the plunger behind brake pedal was snapped. was easy repair, but still looks like it should not happend

hi there guys, you need to remember the age of your car, not just the mileage. 80,000/11 years old car (min) = 7272 miles a year. that's a fair bit of stop/start driving, putting wear on all parts. hth
