Hi to all ...new 24v went through the mot with the usual wishbone replacement. While it was there as the auto box fluid was not a good red , (and its a good practice when I get started on fixing to replace all fluids brake oil etc) I paid to have new fluid and filter done £110 inc. having now been driving for the first real period of about a week ,I have noticed that there is no real discernable kick down. It makes a lot of noise, howls, revs to the red line changes gear ...but no real power as compared to my previous 24v. If I use 1st then second then drive it feels that more torque is being transferred to the wheels . Have read Eric's auto sheet, but do not seem to have the same symptoms as listed ? Be grateful for any Ideas, sorry so long winded Kim

Could be that your kick down switch is sticking or the car mat is covering the switch. Or the PCM might need re-programing. Or i'm sure that someone on here with more expeirience will have a more suitable answer...

The PCM is re-programmed with an FDS2000 but i should wait for some feed back from other members first before you go down that road. As for your speedo, my sat nav is always about 5mph different from my speedo reading, even on my old astra.... Think it's a sat nav thing....

The speedos on the scorpios ! Its well documented that they appear to be 10% out all the way up the range. So I wouldn't worry too much about that. Sat naves are only accurate when traveling along a flat road. There is NOT a kick down switch on the 24 its down electronically when the computer senses that FULL throttle is required, from what I remember .

| I found the internal speedometer, accessible from trip reset button diagnostics, to show exactly the same as my GPS. Around 5-6km/h less than the needle. And the meter can only be somewhat accurate with stock tires. But it's the least of all potential worries...

Mainly gearbox stuff then, which is why you'd be feeling that the in gear performance is low. HEGOs could also affect power if giving incorrect readings to the ECU.

you'd need to get it rechecked after a while to see if they are still there or different. first guess would be the gearbox/engine loom, theres a lot of codes there

Oh God ,not the loom again !!!!!!!!! this would be the 3rd ultima out of 5 to die of wiring faults.......and the 2nd after the alleged plastics change, the next one will be a face-lift 24v (now looking). I will see about getting the codes read again after 2 new lambdas , thanks for the ideas ,cheers Kim

Well seems to be going a bit better now after fords software update. The lambda fault codes P1131 - Lack of H02S11 Switch Sensor Indicates Lean · P1151 - Lack of H02S21 Switch Sensor indicates Lean P0131 - H02S11 circuit out of range low voltage · P0155 - H02SHTR21 Heater Circuit Malfunction Got under the car there are 2 sensors by the bottom exaust and two hard to get toos on the top manifolds , could anyne tell me from my code faults which of the 4 are indicated as having a problem . cheers Kim

Sorry forgot to mention still only showing 20 mpg driving carefully my last 24v used to give around the 26 mpg driven thoughtfully. Put in new plugs ,air filter ,oil and filter last week to see if that had improved consumption ,,,alas no , Kim

I normally get between 19 and 21, but thats because i mostly do short journeys, about 6 mile to work there and back. I get 26 on a long motorway journey. .......

Looks like both you pre cat Lambda sensors (the hard to get to ones on the manifold) are shot That will be your power problem i think, they control the fuelling Have a look at this it might explain it.. http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/ho2smonitor.htm
