Push up handbrake lever, handbrake bulb on instrument panel working, but no stop lights appearing and of course no holding of rear wheels. Quick scan of rear area - handbrake ropes on it's places. Where else I should need to digging?

Have you checked the tightness of the cable? Did you check with the help of a friend if there was any movement on the caliper connection when pulling the lever?

Is the handbrake slack?? I'd look at the handbrake levers on the top of the calipers, if one sticks the handbrake lever will just take up the slack in the cable and not work.

| Thanks, will try to look there. Still can't find pit or some platform Today noticed that handbrake leveler pushing up veeery tight, with clicking, fixation and all that stuff, but no effect - I can easily push my Scorp with one hand on Neutral gear

If it's very hard to pull the hand brake lever up then it sounds like the hand brake mechanisms on both calipers may have seized. This is usually due to the handbrake not being used very often & just using 'park' to hold the car Could also be caused by the cable sticking in the sleeves due to water ingress

Mechanic in service said that ropes are moving, but with no effect. Said the calipers needs to be repair and it will be cost minimum $100. Sad story, but maybe there is more exits from this situation?

The lever to which the cable is attached needs to move freely. It is held in place by a 10mm bolt. Unscrew this bolt a couple of turns so that you can prise up and then knock down the lever and spray with WD40. JUst keep working it in this manner BUT do NOT fully undo the bolt or you will have a job to replace it. You may have to do this a number of times but hopefully you will gradually feel it free off. IF not then I guess it is new calipers . Read THIS article because it explains how the handbrake works and the diagram (click on it to enlarge) may help too.

| On the caliper, holds the metal piece marked 22 into place?
