That would make sense Andrew because mine does not have traction control.

That is exactly like mine there is only one yellow relay in the glove box compartment and there is an 'empty' socket which is blue. But I have not checked the that the plunger on the CC switch is pulled all the way out & is touching the brake pedal, I will look tomorrow.

Simmo.
It is the earlier cars that have the 'one touch down' brown relay in the drivers door, later ones have the big black modules.

Thanks Gozz. Do you mean the earlier Granadas as my car is N reg and that has a 'module' as you describe. Hope to catch up after the weekend. Mike Wink

After washing car (No idea if related or just coincidence) my cruise control stopped working. Is there a fuse somewhere which might be blown?

The horn is controlled by Fuse No 9 and relay 10 in the main fusebox.

Details of all relays and fuses are in the handbook. Pages 130-134. Here Smiley

Steve, If the connector at the throttle linkage is worn as mine was a small plastic cable tie should do the trick. Mine's been in place for a few years without further problem. Wink

How does cruise control decrease speed in steep downhills? because sometimes it works properly, sometimes partially being very jerky and sometimes not at all.

My cruise control doesn’t restrict speed on downhill sections, I’ve always assumed that’s how it should be.

That's a point, it's just working the throttle, not the brakes, though presumably it throttles back to keep the speed the same on slight down slopes but can't on steep hills!

Are you really sure? What then explains those problems I have. Sometimes in same downhill speed increases WAY over the limit. And sometimes it keeps in speed i have set cruise to.

When I notice it's "braking", RPM needle goes down, approx 2000->1800 etc..

Maybe this Late 1998 has more clever software ? llol..

Maybe this explains better what I mean about speed not increasing in downhill:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J1wahKirpy0

Keep eye on both needles

Video was recorded in this downhill: http://tinyurl.com/ye5n95e

Don't you guys really have that behaviour?
I'd like to disable it, heh.
