ABS CODES C1450 and 1495

Hi,

My 24v is showing the codes

C1450 Traction control motor circuit failure

C1495 Traction control motor potentiometer circuit failure

If I replace the Traction Control Motor as listed in an article on this web site will it clear both issues?

Or is c1450 Traction control motor circuit failure & C1495 Traction control motor potentiometer circuit failure in the ABS MODULATOR?

Regards Chris

hi there

i would say it would clear after replacing the tc module, but it is a scorpio after all! Undecided

they are separate things but do use the most of the same sensors, but as long as you haven't had any codes just for the abs, i would say it will be fine.

has the tc stuck on? pulling on the gas pedal?

Hi Scorpio_man,

The ABS and TCS lights stay on on initial start and do not flicker and stayed on.

I cleared many issues

front ABS sensor replaced as open circuit
rear sensors on both sides removed and cleared
resoldered connections in module for ABS Motor
all connections cleaned and regreased inc module connections

then had a friend in a garage reset the codes and drove away after 1/2 a mile the ABS and TCS started to flicker and after a further 1mile both lights went out.
The lights then performed as normal, on for a few seconds on initial start then off. The car has then been parked while other issues resolved for MOT wishbone bushes and steering gaitors new tyres etc.

This lasted for a couple of weeks but now again both lights stay on on initial test and do not turn off at all.

So need to know if TCS MOTOR needs replacing or the ABS MODULE? or take the plunge and replace both.

If any Breakers or dealers read this can they give me a price please for 2nd hand units that are ok to send to PLYMOUTH

A blown fuse, poor earth or feed to the ABS pump will produce the C1095 Hydraulic Pump Motor Circuit Failure code.

I know nothing about the traction control but I assume the same could apply to the traction control wiring & produce traction control motor codes.

Hi Tompion,

I 've spoken to a Master Technician today at Ford Dealership

He states that when the TCS Motor is failing it draws too much amp/volts which causes these error codes. Replacing the TCS motor with a working unit will solve the issue.

Next problem is Ford Europe no longer stock this item it will only be found in Breakers yards or  Private seller breaking their car so now currently trying to find 2nd hand unit.

no probs... I would have to confirm the tcs motor anyway as I can't remember if it's that or the cruise I have.

Looms there if you think you need it though.
