Hi Folks. Reporting back having just completed the full to empty test re; petrol consumption. Works out at 20mpg. I can live with this as it was undertaken in mostly non motorway conditions mainly her indoors going to work each day. YES! she has claimed the Scorpio as her own already. I am having a service done tomorrow and I expect this will increase the mpg especially as there is something making a tinny sound from the passenger side rear wheel, possibly a brake binding. Also turning the air con button off after start up should make a difference. Many thanks again for all the advice.

| Make sure they check the wheel bearing!. That type of noise is a classic for a failing wheel bearing.

Just a note on my mpg after a short service. The plugs that were replaced were on their last legs so consumption should be that much better plus a new air filter to go in tomorrow. And the good news is that the 'tinny' sound was simple an exhaust bracket which was partially adrift and vibrating. Many thanks again.
