What engine can I get

Right I dont know what it is but for the 2 weeks my Scorpio was working, minus the kickdown I did enjoy the drive.
Finding another local is a problem. So the questions is what other Ford cars can I get an engine from.
I want to keep the 2.9 12V setup and it has to be pretty much plug and play with no issues.
Tried to find a Scorpio from 1994-1996 and non but can get engine from other Fords cheap but will they work etc.

Forget that and all the hassle involved, get somebody who knows what they are doing to fix your engine for a reasonable sum. I'm d**n sure I could.
Whereabouts are you ?
Do you not have anyone locally who can fix it for you.
Don't attempt to force turning it over, better to turn it backwards slightly. a strong telescopic magnet may get the rod out without removing the head with care and patience. Then its just a matter of timing it up correctly which is not a hard job for someone familiar with V engines

I am located in South Yorkshire, Rotherham. Nobody round hear will touch it for a decent price hence why I am in this mess now. The rod has moved as you can't turn it over back or forward so there is deffo damage inside for sure.

all thats happened is the rod has probably wedged piston down at its lowest point. might just be case of head off and remove rod. not too bad really

I'm in NW Scotland which is a pity your too far, coz I know I could get it running in a day.
I wonder if there is another member on here who is closer and may be able to sort it for you for some beer tokens ?
