Reprogramming Key Fob

Hi Folks.

Managed to get a key fob but cannot make it reset.  Have checked batteries are fully charged and of the right type,  cleaned contacts where necessary and followed the forums procedure for reprogramming.  It is out of a 97 model, same as mine and was working prior to now. ( Or so i'm told).

When the first gong sounds do I keep the open button pushed in and turn key off for the second gong or simply press once, release and turn key to off?

Cheers.

Press unlock key after first gong, you should now get a second gong to say 'message received',now turn off key for a third gong,if you don't get the second gong there is a fault of some sort with the fob. They do benefit from a dismantle and clean with meths as the conductive surfaces get contaminated.

A good idea is to do all your fobs in sequence. Mine loses the other if both are not programmed at the same time.

Hi Folks.

Remote works fine after inserting new batteries, so a wee warning to anyone with a similar problem.  The batteries were reading as having ample power but my local car shop told me that this does not mean they are combining to give the required energy to operate the fob.

Thanks for the advice. Grin
