Heater noise

My ultima has recently developed a noise from the heater area of the dash when the diverter is switched to demist (and to a slightly lesser extent on all the positions if the aircon is switched on). Its a fair vibration too - you can feel it through the transmission selector ! Best way to describe it is like something has got into the fan and is vibrating like a spokey thing - but the odd thing is that the noise/vibration increases with engine revs my first impression is a fault with the blower, but the revving thing makes me worry it could be the electronic clutch on the aircon compressor seized, or maybe the compressor itself ?

Does it do it when the selector is in Park or just when driving ?

Take the belt off the a/c compressor and see if it still does it
