SadMy climate control has packed up again! It first gave up about 3 months ago but then started to work again. Could the problem be related to the battery going completly flat while it was having the diff repaired?Does it have a magic program that only Ford and you guys know about? Help it's freezing here  Embarassed

Happy new year.

Hi guys, I also have a very cold car!

Trouble is I've tried the reset (5 times now) to no effect.

I've taken it to a Ford main dealer (who didn't have a clue, but didn't charge me at least).

I have an Ultima 24v which fortunately has the heated seats!

I have found that if I set it to HI with a low fan it pumps out at a couple of degrees above the outside but not enough to defrost it in this weather or to take my coat and scarf off.  If I 'boot it' I get a few seconds of heat but no more.

I'm not handy with a spanner, before anyone comes up with anything too complicated!  Any help appreciated though!  I'm in the Luton area if anyone knows a garage that could help.

Cheers, Bri.

Ok I've been hunting round here and I guess it's the matrix... One-o-One Ford were 60% sure that's what it was but couldn't order a matrix from Ford of they were 100% sure as no parts for the Scorpio are available on their systems anymore.  Helpfully.

Bri, it's sounds like you could have a blocked heater matrix  Sad

A sure way to confirm this is to get the engine up to temp & then grab hold of the matrix pipes. They should be too hot to hold for more than a few seconds, but if the out pipe is cold or cooler than the in pipe, then you probably have a blocked or restricted matrix.

Good luck  Smiley

Or the same symptoms could mean it is air locked. Put a garden hose on one of the pipes into the matrix, give it a good flush out and see what the flow is like, but there are suggestions that it can become partially blocked, but without affecting the flow.
