Hi folks i hope everyone is well. about a year ago i had major problems with my 1996 2.3lit manual scorpio. the usual problem of lights staying on after the ignition keys taken out, dashboard lights staying on etc resulting in the constant draining of the battery. Everyone said that the scorpio was notorious for getting water inside the fuseboxes. before i discovered this oasis of a site, i forked out for both new original ford fuseboxes at a total cost of £350 with a further cost of £550 to have them fitted. Ouch!!! Highlander was kind enough to send me a plastic battery cover to keep the water at bay. now the dashboard lights are staying on again and draining the battery. deja vu! of course this has happened just after the one year warranty ran out for the work carried out. what i would like to ask is, does anyone know of any decent auto electricians near where i live. Southall, Middlesex or west London.

Check out the ashtray in the front.. the metal on the ashtray can sometimes short out the cigar lighter which is always live, and give very similar results
