If the O/S lock barrel has been changed at any time, your key will lock it as will any key,but will not unlock it.As you may know the barrels can be rebuilt to match the key with a bag of bits from the FMD,you may need to do this if there is only one key.

As above I bet the lock has colopased, common Ford problem.

Sometimes if you put the key in and push it alittle more in and turn to the unlock postion it will unlock the door.

That been the case the return spring is broken but you can only get that as part of a lock kit.

About £30 from a Ford dealer eitherway.

The guide to rebuilding and fitting a door lock is Here.
It is not wise to rely upon a remote as they are prone to go faulty and if you do not have a working key you are in trouble. Even if you do use a remote it is good practice to use the key from time to time to check that all is well.  Smiley
