Poor running/ misfire

my new scorpio (2.0 8v) is misfiring very badly. Hasnt happened to me with one before, although those were 2.9 and 2.5td . Anybody got any suggestions of what to try first?

| If standard copper tip about that with some attention. Platinum and iridium alternatives last way longer 40k to 60k+.

| I used Champion platinum RC8PYP in my cossie, they were quite reasonably priced too. Compatibility was derived from charts, there was never any problem with poor running. It's actually the same for 2.0, believe it or not (http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/diy.htm where RC10PYC is wrong for the cossie).
