The bottom rubber bushes have gone on these very expensive shocks and it seems ridiculous that no does replacement press in ones. I have already pressed the old ones out and they appear to be a very simple and common type. Anyone found a solution? elvet

Nope, been looked at a few times but no one ever came up with a solution other than fitting 2nd hand shocks. New ones would probably cost more than the cars worth. I've always had a spare shock to fit so never been forced into looking at replacement bushes but it must be possible, many companies offer bushes of any size of the shelf

I contacted a UK bush manufacturing company last year out of curiosity. They answered within days and would have made polyurethane bushes for the Scorpio estate shocks, the minimum batch would have been around 200 pcs. I never got a quote, because for that they would need exact dimensions, which I couldn't give myself (have a saloon only). Based on the picture, they could have manufactured it quite cost effectively.

I made enquiries with a company called FloFlex last year and they asked me to send a bush in for evaluation - but I never got around to getting a spare one removed - if you have one which you could either send to me I will persue the enquiry or perhaps you could contact them and send it in yourself ?

To get the dimensions, the diameter of the "eye" in the shock, the pin diameter and the width would be necessary. This can be done without destroying one, if done carefully. Probably a split bush could reasonably be used (like the anti-rollbar bushes), then it would be easy to reuse the old pin.
