Hi Paul, welcome to the site. Sounds like a stupid question but do you drive through a lot of water on your journeys? Maybe the discs are warping  Lee

I put 4 new discs & new pads on my 2.3 auto estate 3 years  / 21,000 miles ago and they are all still good.
Pads & discs are Mintex branded.

What brand of pads / discs are you ising ?

Pauldo,

are the discs wearing down to the limit or warping?

hi  thanks for all your replies. lee i do not drive through a lot of water. the first 5 sets of discs were ford parts .I then changed both discs and pads to mintex. alas these discs are still warping after about 3500 miles but pads are fine

One question Are  you bedding the new discs in correctly. If not then you will get " warping"
New discs MUST be bedded in along with pads. otherwise uneven wear and vibrations occur.

Try Halfords pads, they are harder .   I had the same problems with a granada scorpio and after fitting halfords own branded pads the problem went.
