Hi Guys, After doing a little maintainence on the scorp, (new anti roll bar bushes), the car knocks away at the front like I've never heard. I am going to change the link rods next. Has anything moved that I should be looking for?? Cheers Lee

Lee. When you changed the bushes did you get new brackets?.  I did mine recently and had to get new brackets as the bushes are a different shape. The old bushes had a depression in them and the brackets were'dished' to fit. The new bushes are totally flat on the outside and so the brackets need to match. Are you sure the anti roll bar is not slightly 'off centre' and catching at one end?. Did you have the knocking before because as PJ says new link rods will make a hell of a difference. They certainly did on mine. I did the a/roll bushes at the same time which is how I came across the change of design. Smiley. Mike.
The FINIS for the new bush was F1128725 and the clamp F1125699 .

If you decide to do the link rods This post may save a lot of swearing !!.Smiley

Hi Mike, Managed to get the old style bushes so were a perfect match for the original brackets. The anti roll bar could'nt move either way as there is a stop bracket that does not allow the bar to move excessively. There was some lesser noise before I changed the bushes so it may have just got worse since the fitment. Thanks for the link and I will let you guys know how I got on. Regards Lee

Strange that you should mention that.

When I was replacing my air con pump I noticed that the anti-roll bar could move from side to side. I thought that was very strange as the purpose of an anti-roll bar was to stiffen up the suspension not for it to move. I had intended to do the bushes before MOT but with other things on my mind at the moment I don't know if I'll still have the Scorpio by MOT time.

PJ Davis, spot on. The silence can clearly be heard as your prognosis was correct. The knocking noises has now gone after changing the link rods. Thanks mate. Happy days.    Lee
