Ventilation fans running on constant maximum

I have my suspicions that I have a HBC problem but both left and right ventilation fans are running flat out when the ignition is on. CC controls do not change things at all. I have temporarily solved the problem (fans off and not working) by unplugging the left hand connector to the HBC. I do not remember fans failing in the on position. Any thoughts? Geoff

Hi Geoff - you've only got one ventilator motor for the CC. With CC you you have two flaps for left and right vents + sensors to control their temp. Either the fanmotor runs or not or erratically in which case you need a new HBC with a long coling fin. Behind your radiator you've got two fans each or both controlled by a big relay under the headlight and the EEC-V - are they behaving strangely? Pls clarify - Ray

Is the ribbon cable at the rear of the control panel securely in ?....If it's not, then that causes the blower to run at full pelt
