ultima td estate gearbox probs !

hi guys
i have a 2.5 td estate auto
having problems withe the box
1 seems to hang onto gears but if i lift off the throttle it will change but with a bit of a jerk !
2 also if i am driving it on the bypass about 65 70 mph and come off the throttle and allow the car to coast, the revs drop down but when i try to accelerate again i have no throttle whatsoever the car seems to just be on tickover until the speedo reads about 50 odd miles an hour then my throttle comes back !!!
doin my head in now lol
any help would greatful
