Speedometer Needle

The speedo needle, having flicked hard round just after start, is now on the wrong side of the zero stop!
Any ideas

You may have to use the instrument reset first, the needles always spin clockwise the next time the ignition is turned on following that procedure.
press the odometer reset button for about 5 seconds, while the engine is running.

The dash needles spinning independently of an instrument reset can be signalling a failing battery

Thanks for that. The needle is stuck on the wrong side of the physical stop at 0, and is trying to work! I can only think the solution is to drill a hole in the perspex and hook the needle over the stop.

The needle is on a type of motor, when you do a reset the needle is driven clockwise & then driven back to the stop. The needle can get past the little ledge at the bottom – which has happened to yours, so it will try to come back during a reset but doesn’t have enough umph to get over the ledge. With a bit of luck if you thump the dash at the right moment during a reset (just as the other needles return) you will assist it in jumping back over the ledge.
The above being the long winded version of what Highlander said.
I believe it says on the relevant page to have the engine running but that’s not necessary, turn on ignition, press odometer button until it goes into diagnostic mode, turn off ignition, when you turn it back on the needles will flick round.

Did you try it??
Its a regular problem and has been solved using the thump many times although I do remember someone once doing as you say and drilling the perspex. :-/
You can also unscrew the dash and perspex just enough to allow access with a piece of wire (I have done this in the past)
BUT someone discovered the dash thump method (sounds like Gozz's style) and its always worked for me ;D
