accelerator cable snapped

my accelerator cable has snapped and needs replacing , can anyone tell me can i use one from a modeo ( lots of parts are inter-changeable )
also are there any pit falls i should look out for when i replace the snapped one

What engine is it?
I would doubt a Mondeo one would fit, what parts have you used off a Mondeo that fit a Scorpio?
I know some of the dash/gearbox trim fit but never heard of anything else

getting really stuck here . got an interview next week and no car
ford no longer surply cable , breakers cut them .......
anyone got any ideas where to get a new or second hand cable or how to repair , trouble with repair cable has snapped at the adjuster .
