Bad vibrations

Hi,
since I replaced my automatic gearbox in 2009 I can feel vibrations coming from the rear of the car. Vibration starts at 45mp/h. They have a higher frequency than bad balanced wheels an do definitely not depend on a bad rim. The centre bearing of the driveshaft was replaced when changing the auto-box. Left and right driveshafts where replaced in 2010 because they were worn. There is no abnormal noise which points to bad wheel bearings. The wheel bearings do not make any noises when the car ist on the lift and I turn  the wheels by hand. The universal joint at the end of the driveshaft seems to be good.

I can feel the vibrations at my seat alittle bit and best sitting on the rear seats. They cannot be felt when touching the shifter.
Any ideas?

Hi,
thanks for the answer, but that doesn't match the problem. I have constant vibrations with, I think, no connection to the auto-box. There seems to be a relation between the vibrations and the main drive shaft. Could probably a fault caused by screwing in the bolts of the universal joint in a wrong way. Or even the universal joint itself.
I'll put the car on the lift the next day and have a sharper look on these parts.

Well, as long as you know what it's  not - you're halfway down the solution, no?

Werner.
Check for lift ie up and down movement in the diff output shafts indicating worn diff side bearings.

The bolts on the UJ joints have to be fitted back in the same location as they are balanaced. Its in the PDF on the main site. Fitting in the wrong order can cause the syptoms you have described. ITEM 14

Hi, I've changed the main driveshaft and - no more vibrations! By the way: the universal joint was in good condition and the middle bearing as well. Vibrations caused by gremlinsHuh
Thanks for your help.
