I found this from left side of steering wheel under fascia. It may have been left unconnected for mistake last summer.

What could it be? It is small and 2-pole.

You could search the wiring diagrams for the wire colours.

For example there's a blue/white for "trailer adaptor socket". It lights an indicator on the dashboard.

Have you tested it to see if it's permanent live or live with ign on only ?

Just a thought.
Not sure if the Scorpio had a Taxi variant in the model line up but on my old MKIII there was an unused connection above the passenger side (your driver side) footwell, I was informed it was for connecting a taxi meter and/or a two way radio etc

Probably just useless cable, I can not find use for it.

But do you know where I can find rpm signal (0-12V) for widebandlambda controller/logger ?
Well propably in wires behind instrument panel, but colours? And is it 0-12V?

hi there

is this 2 questions? Huh

are you wanting to tap into the rpm signal AND the lambda signal?

don't know about the rpm voltage, but the lambda is 1 (one) volt.

My wideband lambda controller has ability to log stuff like rpm, afr and so. I need to connect rpm from somewhere to it.

Hi Tekno - IIRC the lightswitch has two connectors, one big one small for its lights.

Could that be the case? The clock perhaps?

Am I looking at the ashtray comparmentt? If so again lights.

The RPM signal can be tapped from the EDIS' IDM pin 11; see here:

http://www.dainst.com/info/edis/EDIS_system_diagram.png

Of course the signal is also singlewired towards the instrument cluster but finding the right wire in the loom is hell. It should be thin and White/Black, pin 32 on the connector. On the EDIS though you can easily find it.

What model is it?

In an LHD the EDIS sits under the righthand headlamp.
You must lift up the expansiontank to get there. The hoses can stay on, just lift and roll on its side.

Also down there is the green fan relay for single/both fans control.

The EDIS fires the 2 coils in wasted spark mode. It is directly sync'd by the CPS and its timing is shifted by the EEC-V. It reports the resulting RPM signal back to EEC-V and the instrument cluster.

This is a very wet area. It pays to use water repellent spray on all connectors while there.
