Cossie has calipers for 273mm vented discs Non-cossie estate has calipers for 253mm vented discs. Standard for others is 253mm non-vented. Not sure if vented 273 still goes to 253mm vented caliper, although makes no difference (in friction), except enhanced cooling. Pads are same size and model. Granada mk3 calipers are 100% compatible too, but have own model of pads.

| The disc diameter difference is taken up by the position of the bolt holes in the hub carrier, not the caliper. GOZZ.

| uhmm you're wrong. Caliper for bigger disc has more room in that thing which goes over it. I know because I did upgrade to cossie brakes. for example front 278 disc CAN be but in 260mm caliper, but it comes very close caliper and angle of it is different, it just doesnt look correct, pad is not positioned correctly. When 278 disc is combined with cossie caliper and pads, it's like should be.

Tekno. We are referring to the rear brakes are we not ? I run a mixed Scorpio fleet on funeral work. The extra diameter of the Cosworth rear disc, which are always vented,is catered for by the extension of the lugs on the hub carrier,NOT the caliper. This is one of the many points of which I must be aware when, for instance, replacing rear wheel bearings in a suitable hub carrier,eg- if a spare hub and carrier is to be stocked, due care must be taken to the length of the lugs on the carrier, one will not fit the other. All my vehicles, being uprated, have vented rear discs, even the 2.3 engined cars, therefore all my calipers are the same and are fully interchangeable, however, the hub carriers are NOT.Believe me,I have done so many of these over the years,I have to know what's what. GOZZ.
