No heater fan after water pump changed

hi all new to the forum so this is my first thread. have a 95 scorpio cosworth and replaced the leaking water pump. all that side of this is fine but ever since then the interior heater fan/motor does not work on any speed. have checked all the fuse in both fuse boards under the bonnet and ok, completely stripped apart the os fuse board cause i heard they get water ingress but all ok. it did at first lose all the front lights and would not idle but they have sorted themselfs now. the engine loom was very brittle but manged to reinsulate all that and seems ok. i must of disturbed something whilst doing the pump but not sure what. when you turn on the fan speed switch the air con button illuminates but no fan. on occassions when first starting it the air con compressor cuts in but then soon stops and theres been times when i have jumped in it to move it and the fan has briefly worked but soon stopped. found that there was some kind of base setting you can do with holding the ac and recirc button but no better. have powered up te fan moter and that works fine so no fault with that and checked feeds to the resistor pack which has feeds on 3 of the 4 wires and the remaning wire seems to be a earth, dont really understand that. does anybody know whats going on? any info would be much appreciated nick

If it went on first time then its not fitted correctly..great care has to be taken to fit the plug correctly otherwise some very strange faults and syptoms appear......

The crucial thing with the main fusebox is to ensure that the two pins on the fitting are located fully in the lugs on the side of the box. It can be a fiddle but if they are not located, and held there as the plug is pushed down, it will appear ok BUT will be one row of pins out as Gozz and Snoopy suggest. Do you have any 'odd' light problems that is usually a classic sign.

Hi again, yeah tried the plug and it's definitely on correctly. I just refitted it the wrong way and the lights didn't work so that's what the problem with the lights and the idle was but all fitted right now but still no heater. Do the control panel/switches ever pack up? I heard that the resistor packs play up, could this be the problem? I've got 3 feeds and a earth to the resistor, is that tight? It doesn't seem to change when you operate the fan switch.

The unit is behind the controls. Have a look at This page which may help. You talk about a 'resistor' pack. Do you mean This ?. If not check out a 'button' on the left of the page for HBC repair.
