Juddering - electrical fault?

Hi All,
The problem started with my 98, 2.3 auto estate running roughly when stopped and Huh in gear. When running in neutral or park it idled smoothly.  However it now judders when driving and when this occurs the radio goes off.  Do I have an electrical fault or is the radio going off a symptom?   Where do I start?  Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Mike

The rough running sounds like an ignition fault which is exacerbated when under load, duff spark plug or one coil pack, possibly engine loom.See if you can borrow a coil to substitute each of yours first, then change the plugs if you haven't done them lately, look at the condition of the wiring under the plug cover as well.
The radio problem may be unconnected with the above, but is nevertheless more than a coincidence !

Thanks GOZZ,

You are absolutely correct.  It was one of the coils which has now been replaced and the car is running back to it's normal exceptional standard.  The radio issue was a red herring.  I have bluetooth fitted this has a connection to the ignition circuit which also has a radio mute.  The radio display did not change so I didn't put 2 and 2 together but I think this was the reason for the radio going of.
