You have me worried now Lee. I'm going to be attempting to take the one off the doner car tomorrow, I'll let you know how I get it off.......that's assuming I can get it off.

Rod, the hardest part I found so far was removing the electrical connections because of the lack of space. Lee

Lee, I think I found out why your starter wouldn't budge after removing the three obvious bolts. I removed the one on the doner car today (2ltr 16v)after much swearing and cursing. Two of the bolts were easy enough, the third one (top one) faces the opposite way and was a nightmare to get at until I removed the oil filter, it was then I noticed a fourth bolt, this was on a bracket securing the rear of the starter and attached to the engine block. All done now.

Rod, Discovered that too. Bolts came out pretty easy I have to say, a wiggle and out it came. Took gearbox out today, same thing, bolts tight but came out OK, didn't notice the one right at the top.I was wondering why the bottom pulled out but the top stayed in place. Got there in the end
