belt question

hi all, i would like to no if anyone has by passed the air con pump with a smaller belt. i have a 2.3 r reg auto and the pump has collapsed. would anyone no part number or what vehicles alt belt i need to ask for at the motor factors? thanks gaz

Hi Gaz, not sure of part numbers but there should be non aircon options available in the parts catalogue

Best thing to do is measure the length of the belt you require. Use a piece of string to ensure you get the right'run'. The factors usually have the option of air con and non aircon as Stuart says but a guide to the length is the best bet.

thanks highlander. it listed a 1755 for a non air con. they didnt have one but gave me a 1740 to try. that fitted ok. bit harder to fit but still not to tight. 15 quid and back on the road. dont suppose anyone knows what heater matrix i req for a 98 2.3 scorpio? it listed 3 types so not sure which one i need. wondering if there is anyone on line i can get one from

afaik there is two models - for no automatic climate control and for automatic climate control. later one just has more length, and first one is same as ford sierra heater matrix
