Dead diesel.

I have a Scorpio 2.5 TD 1996 with the VM37B engine. I had no ignition key delivered with the car but had one made by dismantling the lock in the rear door. This key however has no transponder... Via this forum I was told how to bypass the electronic starter inhibitor (wrong technical term, but you understand). Everything seems to work - but no fuel comes through the mainly mechanical diesel pump. This is extremely well protected and I cannot even see the cable to the solenoid blocking the pump, nor check if it gets current to open. I have read about the cables that deteriorate – how can I bypass this, in case that is one of the problems? Which electrical connections does this pump have? Is there another electronic block of the pump that I have missed?? I do not wish to dismantle the car, just get it starter to be able to sell it. My Range Rover with the VM diesel needs a successor – it’s all corroded. Is there a wiring diagram on the site for the car I have? Any, ANY advices would be greatly welcome! I have had the car for quite some time now and it drives me mad. Many thanks in advance. Krister

Does the car even have pats? My td does not, Also the pats system cannot just be bypassed with a quick wiring mod, Do the td even have electrical fuel pumps? As i assumed it was a mechanical pump driven off the engine

If it is cranking, I'd get my fingers in there and put a live to the stop solenoid, make sure it clicks, it is a b****r to get at but can be done AFAIK, the TD's that had PATS was a very simple system and only requires an ignition Live to the pump to make it run What about lift pump, holed pipe or blocked filter ? I'd be checking all that HTH Dave
