Hi Geoff,

looms in good order?

Looks like your faults start after a while and then cease, usually because of heating up bad cabling.

Especially the one next to the exhaust manifold "engine compartment loom" running from the big grommet in the firewall to the two cubic-shaped connectors and under the ABS module?

Very suspect.

Also visually inspect a fork coming off this loom near the firewall and up to the three-pin EGR Differential Valve Control Sensor. It sits on its own straight in frornt of the steeringwheel in a RHD. It is the box with the two rubber tubes.

The three wires down at the fork are subject to heat and shorting causing EGR to switch on/off at the speeds mentioned injecting exhaustgasses into the inlet manifold.

Very suspect.

Read here:  http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/egr.htm

If that fails do inspect the loom over the injectors for brittle isolation and bad splices.

FWIW mine did that regular until MAF was replaced (as well as filters and cat)

No amount of cleaning the MAF made any difference, it was basically kn@ckered.... had just gotten too old I think (?)

TCS & ABS lights may be a separate 'issue'....

As a quick simple test you can unplug the MAF and try it like that, car will work in open-loop fuelling mode, if that cures the jerking then that's the kiddie at fault (MAF) Grin
