Installing 2-DIN audio unit in a Scorpio '95

Thanks for a very helpful and good page.
I’m a mid aged (50) Norwegian Ford enthusiast, owner of four beautiful German Fords. I’ve just has been member of your forum as “98Cossie_in_Norway”.

I’m very satisfied with my ’98 Ghia Cosworth, now with milage 85000 km, but this satisfaction does not include the 6000 CD audio unit.
I’ve already bought a Kenwood DNX5280BT, a 2-DIN GPS navigation/ audio unit. It’s known that the 6000CD isn’t a 2-DIN standard, but only with small differences.
Does anybody of my Scorpio-friends have experiences with such a installation? And what am I going to do to get the unit properly and nice installed?
I’ve also learned that an adapter: http://www.acb.no/Details.asp?ProductID=2527with wire set:http://www.acb.no/Details.asp?ProductID=2558will include the steering column remote control in the audio system. Anyone with this experiences?

Welcome to Ford Scorpio, You have some very nice fords 
Which type of audio unit do you currently have fitted? (5000RDS , 7000RDS?)
The Double Din units can be made to fit the dash, you need to trim the plastic on the bottom edge of the audio surround.
If you send a private message to Baz, hes fitted the double din radios in the past
