2-3 Transit inlet manifold? Can anyone tell me if this is the same as the Scorpio 2-3 manifold please?
After overheating last year and getting oil in the coolant, which must have become acidic, the stat housing seems very thin! i have repaired it but think i had best replace this if i get the car through, m.o.t! plus re m.o.t. is the flashing air bag light a fail yet?
cheers Bob

Yes a 2.3 Transit manifold will fit (assuming there isn't more than 1 type of 2.3 engine used in transits). There was someone selling new transit ones on Ebay a while back & several people here used them on Scorpio's. Some of the bolt on bits are slightly different – throttle body, idle air control valve & I think one of the temp sensors so you’ll have to swap them from the Scorpio manifold.

The stat housing gets eaten away by the coolant/heat anyway so probably nothing to do with the oil.

The asbestos looking lining in this picture is actually the plastic eaten into:

If the steel insert is rusty like this one it's a good idea to push it out, clean it up & treat it for rust before it swells and cracks the manifold like this one has.

As Tompion confirms, it is the same manifold  Wink.....I bought one of those new manifolds off Ebay a couple of years back (£50 if I remember right) & it was exactly the same manifold as the 2.3 Scorpio manifold  Smiley
