oil indicator light scorpio 2.5 TDI

My Scorpio 2.5 TDI oil pressure light stays on or is flickering. The oil level is ok the motor temperature also
and does not make any strange noise
Can any one tell me what the problem might be and how to solve it

It's almost certainly the switch giving up if the wire is not chafing anywhere,before fitting another switch,screw a gauge into the engine to check the pressure,if it's 15-40 psi the switch is suspect.
