I have a possible alloy inlet manifold for my 2-3 in place of the plastic one, some guy i met has an engine which he does not know if it is 8v or 16v. is there an obvious difference in them to check before he takes it off? i wonder if the inlet ports are different! is it a difficult job to modify the 2-0 manni? also can someone tell me what an m.o.t. should cost please? Thanks Bob

the plugs on a 8v are in the inlet manifold so nothing fits a 16v

Thanks 5stud, my lad has now seen the engine, which he says is a 16 valve, but it is a carbretta engine, not injection! perhaps it's an early one! Bob

Scorpios don't have carburettors,if it is a 16v engine it will have a central plastic cover in the centre of the cam cover, with 2000 DOHC 16v on it,the oil filler is on you left as you stand in front of the car.

Sounds more like an older RS2000 maybe?

The latter rs2000 looks the same as the 2.0 16v scorpio, but has a red rockercover It could have been converted to bike carbs though to run in a kit car or banger Can you post some pics up of it
