Hi
How much should it cost to fix this problem. 'throttle position sensor has become tempermental'? Its a 24v estate. Is it a big job or costly. It is on a car i am hopefully going to buy maybe tomorrow depending on price to fix.
Thanks  Grin

Daniel
As Matt says he may be able to fix you up with the sensor for which I am sure he wouldn't rob you.Has the owner had a diagnostic ? does he know for sure that the TPS is faulty ? when they start to pack up the car can become almost undriveable, and from my experience if the fault is intermittent the problem is far more likely to be a loom breakdown, even though the diagnosis is a faulty sensor.Do beware of story telling Scorpio owners trying to unload their problems at your expense.Matt will be able to throw light on the situation  Cool

Yep,

id say it probs the loom cracked up on the TPS plug, it does have a sharp bend.

Have a good listen for air leaks, the 24v has a crap little plastic T piece under the manifold that can crack, makes them run rough to.

like i said if you like it have it but try and haggle the price

If you could strech to what leny want for the white estate id go for that, leny, and my mate before him (craig) have done what needs to be done money no object. i know the history of that motor to. i can even show you the car (a pic of it anyway) the alloys on it came off lol

Went today and the car was a bit of a dog  Sad dont like saying that about scorpios especially the cosworth but this was not good ran very rough steam from engine chasis had been welded poorly and arches needed doing. He still wanted £500 for it so we walked away. Thanks for advice Smiley
