A few questions 24v

Hi all
On our 24v we have a toad alarm system and its getting annoying seems way to sensitive  Roll Eyes how would i disconnect? Think the ford one still connected because that has gone off before but i dont have the ford fob its the toad one.

Also the heaters dont seem to work properly AC dosnt seem to change temp half as quickly as old 2.3 and the windows hardley clear up and when heater blower on whenever you out your foot down there is a annoying whining noise but when off it goes (somthing to do with fans?) Huh

And we have a oil leek what could that be Huh drives fine and does need a oil change but no clues to what it is. Temp seems fine hoping not head gasket  Sad  Huh

Any answers will really help car will be going for a service soon so might find things then.

Arming the "native" built-in Ford alarm is done whenever car is locked, either by using the key or the Ford remote key fob, doesn't matter which.
Best way I know of (from experience) of defeating the Ford alarm is to disconnect one of the sensor switches, bonnet one is easiest, can't be set then so won't work. (The other sensor switches being doors and boot.)

Daniel, Don't disconnect the ford alarm, disconnect the toad alarm. It's not really needed as the ford alarm is really quite good. Is there a positive running from the live side of the battery feeding the toad alarm? Fused somewhere along the line?
Whining sound could be the  fan motor beginning to fail. Cheers Lee

I took it he meant disconnect the toad.

Is it a movement / vibration sensor type? (The toad). I have tried some of those before they're just a pain in the A. R. S. E....

To be honest im not to sure  Embarassed i think it is a movement one and the way youve described it sounds spot on a real pain  Roll Eyes I will remove it when i get the chance. How long do you think the alarm will go on for if i cant hear it and left? Going to out tomorrow and dont want it to be going off and annoying people whilst left in car park we wont be far from it just playing on my mind.

With the fans do you mean the ac/heater blower fans failing and not the fans for the car or the other way around sorry to sound thick but not very good with engines and so on  Embarassed
Thanks for help

No idea about the alarm time. Can't remember what mine were, 30 seconds or summink?

The one that also monitored the battery Voltage was a doozy, meant couldn't leave it with the hazards on

How good is the battery?

you've already said its gone dead with just the radio going...

The toad system isnt like a cheap one you can get from any motor factors, the scorpio looms will have been cut and joined to fit it. plus its there for a reason, maybe the original one doesn't work? that said if you find the toad module you should be able to turn the sensitivity donw

as for the oil leak what colour is the oil?

stick some cardboard under it over night that cover the engine and gearbox area, then you should know were its dripping from

its also worth finding the unit to see if its a Thatcham approved unit, if it is you should tell your insurance, will make it slightly cheaper
