Ok...so found bonnet switch connector separated and it tests fine zero ohms and its stable when switch closed.......not sure where to go now.....i assume if i leave disconnected alarm wont set so at least wont have the hazards going off cant see how to logically follow through ..with battery disconnected the other side of the connector measures open circuit so assume some relay needs be closed to complete the loop any ideas would be appreciated

If you look at this: Anti-Theft Alarm wiring diagram It connects to the Central Control Module so is electronic gubbins at the other end. My best guess is you got a bad connector somewhere, and could be for any of the switches not just bonnet.

Does it have internal sensors in the headlining above the door pillars ?....If so, disconnect them....worked for me

I had a similar problem with my first Scorpio - 2.5TD Estate. Whenever it happened I opened and closed all doors and this seemed to cure it. Still have no idea what caused it in the first place. Cheers, James
