Hi all have an intermitent fault with the gearbox on my cossie , first of the speedo stops working then the gears becomes erratic usually the o/d light starts flashing any ideas it must be electrical rather than  mechanical thanks  will

It's a diy fix if it's confirmed to be the fault by other members.  Have you cleaned the maf lately? Does cause gearbox change problems and o/d to come on.

They usually need changing out as the cog has slightly stripped. Hope this can be confirmed by other members Smiley

Definitely, they go wrong electrically inside, so you can't see what's wrong.

Will, You will need to replace it with one from another 24V. They are different for every gearbox Wink

The gearing is different according to the diff ratio Lee,the gears can be changed over from one to the other.
