I am having intermittant problems with my 2.3 Auto estate - when pulling away - usually at junctions there is an intermittant flat spot - accelerator to floor but car doesn't pull away - eventually power kicks in - Hadn't happened for a while but has happened twice this morning - car seems very sluggish and lacking power - any ideas

The first thing to do is read and follow This link. The second would be to check the fuel filter. Welcome to the site.

Sounds ignition related Old spark plugs can seriously slow a car down, especially when trying to pull away. Past their best coil packs & HT leads are also a big contributor to lack of power, causing misfire (hiccups) when accelerating. Or could be the good old engine wiring loom problem of crusted/brittle/missing cable insulation (going to coil packs) at the top of the engine, causing a short to earth, or broken & fraid so bad that they can no longer conduct properly & carry the proper amount of current. Hope this helps
