Air Con - clutch wont pull in

Havent started car for 12 mths..today started fine (has big solar panel in cigar socket !)  all good except a/c..the clutch isnt coming in.. ..it was  fine 12 mths ago....   relay R24 is closing ..can hear when pulling/in/out...  would be surprised if its lost gas , worked fine for 8 years ..and was regassed 2 years ago ..assume de-icer switch and pressure switch in series with clutch coil so they would turn it off ?

could it be mechanical..??.        .is there some connection re not being used for 12mths ?? would really like some guidance please hard to know where to start

thanks John

Its possible that the gas has leaked out, the aircon needs to be run at least once a month to keep the seals in good condition.

hi there

check that the multi plug hasn't fallen off the compressor. i've seen that before.

also how long was the system in a deep vacuum state?

the scorpio uses a 'needle' type expansion valve (looks like a mushroom) near the bulkhead. this wears and can get stuck, resulting in high pressure.

get it in a deep vacuum and give the valve a gentle tap. this might free it off.

deep vacuum? it was kwik fit that done it I there was two leads on their machine low and high pressure leads I assume, only the one lead connected to the low port, multi plug is on compressor as it was tested to see if any power and none
