Have a 7000 RDS radio plus 6 changer CD. Display not showing, is it worth repairing or as cheap to replace. If replacing would a 6000 fit. Any comments appreciated

There was another thread on here about this. I believe that if you put the unit in the freezer for about 10 minutes it can restore the display but I am not sure if it is a permenant fix. Others have taken the unit apart and found the wires to the display can become detached or broken. I believe the 600 will fit but it has no plug connection for the remote on the steering wheel.

Try the thread a few posts down this page about the same problem-I too have an affected display and was hoping that someone would tell me if the freezer treatment lasted-"Model 7000 not working"
